Improv Musical Comedy Course

Improv Musical Comedy Course

Learn improvised singing from Australia's festival favourite, Impromptunes! In this 7-week workshop series (plus a showcase - optional), participants will learn the magic of making up songs and scenes on the spot through fun activities, games and exercises. Get a foundation in quick rhyming, song structures, and creating melodies and song lyrics that will stick!

The course culminates in a showcase for friends and family on June 20th (optional).

Spots are limited, so don't just think about it - take the plunge! It's much more fun than it is scary. Whether you're new to improv, or musical improv, or if you just want to brush up your skills with the best in the biz, this is the course for you. Shoot any questions through to impromptunesinfo@gmail.com

The course is run by Impromptunes Company Director, Emmet Nichols, who, in addition to being one of Australia's top musical improvisers, is a qualified educator - so you are in safe hands! In a feedback focused model, Emmet tailors the experience to work with the group and individuals at their level.

Impromptunes has received overwhelming support from the public, delivering their shows, podcast and workshops nationally and worldwide. The company strives for quality in its performances, training and workshops, and is proud to deliver a world-class product. Take a listen to the podcast to get a feel for what the troupe does!

Testimonials

“Despite coming from a background of impro and music, the course challenged, frightened and motivated me in all the right ways! A great skills refresher workshop for the super experienced and a extremely supportive starting place for those coming in with absolutely no experience!” - Lou

“Impromptunes’ student course was fantastic. After years away from the performing and creative arts, I was nervous that I'd have no idea what to do. Emmet and Greg were both supportive and excellent teachers, the group of students were eager and engaged and we grew as a team over the six weeks. I can't wait to use the skills I've learned in the next series of workshops.” - Ella

“Coming in as a total novice I was quite apprehensive, but it was such a supportive environment, everyone was so lovely and encouraging that it created a really great learning space. I learnt so much and thoroughly enjoyed it. Am looking forward to part two.” - Narelle
