After another unsuccessful round of IVF, young couple Lou and Maud are broke. Things take an unexpected turn when they inherit a house from an estranged relative, but they struggle to assimilate in their eerily pristine new neighbourhood. Made worse by the presence of a monster living inside their home. A monster they name Jerry.
From the acclaimed team behind ‘Lemon Tree on Dreg Street’, Dirty Pennies in partnership with Geelong Arts Centre presents a new gothic suburban horror that gleefully turns familiar tropes on their head.
Audiences are invited on a wild and nostalgic ride full of spooks, heart, and slime. This genre-warping work explores the terror of planning for the future in an increasingly frightening world, the monsters we wrestle with and the lengths we’ll go to, to keep them at bay.
