Spotlight: Neshama - Yom Kippur (Zoom)
Spiritualise through Jewish music & thought with us these high holy days.
In this moment, we crave connection; to feel part of a community & something greater than ourselves. These high holy days, the Jewish Museum of Australia is excited to invite you to take part in Spotlight: Neshama.
Join Shneur Reti Waks & Simon Starr for a series of inclusive, live online experiences for Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kippur (stay tuned for further events for Sukkot & Simchat Torah) – the first in our Spotlight program of special events that illuminate Jewish life. Together apart, we will sing & discuss the themes of the Chaggim & Yamim Noraim. In spite of the times we find ourselves in, we will celebrate & commemorate.
Starting with mindfulness & song, we will focus on Yizkor – memorialising our loved ones – through traditional & modern Israeli music. Discussion will centre around the most profound human experience & the only thing certain in life: death. The meaning of life, to evolve human consciousness, leads to surprising comfort in the face of death.
Please be advised that this is a free event that will take place on Zoom, with the link emailed shortly prior to it taking place - so be sure to book! It will also be streamed on Facebook Live.
